Postpartum Nutrition

Non-Diet Postpartum Nutrition Support for New Moms

Postpartum begins the moment your baby is born — and in many ways, it never truly ends.

Minutes after giving birth, with your body marked by fresh wounds and soon-to-be-proudly-earned scars, it hits you: “I’m a mom.”

And then, just as quickly: “My body will never be the same.”
Both are true. And both are deeply felt.

In the middle of all the magic, the change, and the hardness, society whispers (or shouts) that you should “get your body back”—as if the incredible work your body just did should somehow disappear.

And even though you know that’s crazy, there’s still a part of you that misses your old body, that struggles to love the new scars, the new curves, the softness that wasn’t there before.

You’re so immersed in caring for your baby that it can feel like you’ve forgotten how to care for yourself.

Your body feels unfamiliar — foreign, even — and yet, it’s your new home. It’s the body your baby loves without hesitation.

Whether you’re a brand-new mom or years into postpartum, if you’re struggling to feel at home in your body — you are not alone.

You deserve the same care, tenderness, and grace you so freely give to your child.

You deserve support that helps you nourish yourself, embrace your body (even if you don’t always love how it looks), and find peace in this new chapter.

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Postpartum nutrition support is here to help you heal, nourish, and reconnect with your body—one gentle step at a time.

Postpartum Care at Nurtured & Well

Weight Inclusive Postpartum Nutrition Support

Diet culture has officially invaded the “mama” spaces of the media. The pressure to “bounce back” after you have a baby can feel incredibly hard to navigate. The postpartum period is inherently one full of change and transition. Learning to appreciate a body that feels foreign is not easy.

At Nurtured & Well, trust that you will be listened to. While I won’t pressure you to lose weight, I won’t shame you for wanting to, either. Together, we will focus on how to gently incorporate nutrition strategies to help you heal, feel energized, and be fully nourished without focusing on the scale.

Intuitive Eating in Postpartum

Whether you are a seasoned intuitive eater or don’t know where to begin, postpartum can throw a wrench in anyone’s ability to be mindful. It’s common to fall into black and white thinking, food rules, and revert to dieting behaviors after having a baby, leaving you feeling miserable and depleted.

At Nurtured & Well, I will meet you wherever you are in your intuitive eating journey. Together we will explore your relationship with food, your ability to listen to your body, and how to transition from being your body’s micromanager to being its ally.

Disordered Eating & Eating Disorder Recovery

Postpartum can be incredibly triggering for anyone with a history of disordered eating or an eating disorder. If you are struggling, Nurtured & Well can help. I specialize in supporting those who struggle with:

  • Anorexia or restrictive eating
  • Bulimia or purging behaviors
  • Binge eating
  • Orthorexia or obsession with “healthy/clean” eating
  • Avoidant-Restrictive Food and Intake Disorder (ARFID) or very selective eating

Note: Due to the nature of outpatient nutrition counseling, I require that clients in eating disorder recovery also be working with a mental health therapist and feel capable of achieving goals between sessions. If more support than this is needed, I will help you find appropriate care that better matches your needs.
