Nice to meet ya!

Hi, I’m Hannah Daigneault, MS, RD, LDN. As a mom of two littles, I created Nurtured & Well to be the kind of support I wished existed—compassionate, weight-inclusive nutrition care without judgment or diets. I walk alongside women as they heal their relationship with food and step into motherhood feeling strong, nourished, and at peace.

A Peek Into My Approach

My counseling approach is informed by the framework of Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size (HAES) and a weight-inclusive foundation of care. This means that I will never make assumptions about your health based on your body size alone, recommend dieting for weight loss, or prioritize my knowledge over your lived experience. I’ll dig far deeper than the number on the scale to get to the root of what’s holding you back from feeling your best. I’ll never offer a one-size-fits-all solution or make promises I can’t keep.

Instead, I will collaborate with you as the expert of your own body. I will help you learn how to tune in to (and trust) your internal wisdom while also helping you challenge diet culture’s influence in your life. We’ll explore how your relationship with food has evolved over time and set goals that support your whole health. You can expect to feel empowered by evidence-based nutrition guidance that’s personalized to your life and circumstances. And your values will always be at the center of our work together.

I also believe in bodily autonomy. This means I respect your right to make decisions about your care based on your own assessment of your mental, physical and emotional needs. Trust that I will never make any of these decisions for you, but I will help you explore all of your options.

My Story

I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by food and the pressure to eat “perfectly.” Like so many of the women I work with, I struggled for years with disordered eating, overexercise, a missing period and poor body image. Ironically, my disordered eating and exercise behaviors were normalized at college while I studied nutrition. My struggles flew under the radar for years. It wasn’t until I finally learned about intuitive eating that I started to better understand diet culture and how I was personally trapped by disordered eating.

Though intuitive eating instantly made sense to me, it wasn’t something I was able to instantly apply to my life. I needed a lot of support to recover and challenge my deeply engrained food rules, exercise dependence, and body hatred. There was a whole lot I had to face and unlearn. I am so grateful for the therapists, dietitians, experts, courses, books, podcasts and friends who helped me navigate recovery, and who keep supporting me as I continue to learn (and unlearn).

There’s no way I could be the dietitian I am today without having gone through what I did. I love what I do because I recognize how life-giving recovery is, even though it’s often hard as hell. Our society makes it incredibly difficult to be a woman. Enjoying a peaceful relationship with food is an act of rebellion. It’s not the easy path.

With all that said, I recognize that my story is not your story. It is an incredible privilege and my greatest honor to learn your story and to be a part of your healing.

I am here for YOU.
